Objective:
Ariel developed a 1:12 scale remote-controlled Crawler in this project. Aiming to explore suspension systems for off-road terrain. He selected a coiled spring suspension and high-pinion axle gears for better driveshaft angles, choosing this scale to take advantage of widely available off-the-shelf mechanical and electrical components.
Design & Development:
Using CAD, Ariel designed the chassis and suspension system, integrating parts like brushed motor, ESC, and receiver. He included a two-speed shiftable gearbox and realistic off-road body. Ariel 3D printed custom mounts, added LED lights, and programmed the transmitter for full control- throttle, and gearbox - all configured across three channels.
