This was a 6-month long project where I developed a remote-controlled crawler. I was exploring different suspension systems for terrain types. I learned that a 12-scale crawler would be a project to best study suspension systems on different terrains. I designed the electronics, and I purchased the components off-the-shelf. This has a standard ESC with a 2S Lithium Battery. It also has Flysky receiver and transmitter, which are programmable and ideal for RC crawlers. All of these components can be identified in the image of the chassis below. I 3D printed bracket mounts and other chassis components for the structure of the vehicle. I added LED lights as well. The crawler has a 550-dc motor and a gearbox to enable 2 speeds. This gearbox is controlled via the controller through channel 3. Channel 1 is steering, channel 2 is throttle, and channel 3 is gearbox speed control.
